Security begins with a high-quality password. Other options such as cipher algorithm option and data shredding level option belong to the sphere of more advanced users. Normal user does not have to be concerned by this and he can leave the decision on DisCryptor®. Just since the first startup, the DisCryptor® software will offer you a list of security profiles from the basic to the most secure. For advanced users, there is a feature for creating a personal security profile.
Security profiles:
•Basic – it is allowed to enter medium-quality secure passwords, automatic option of fast and secure cypher, 3 cycles data shredder
•Safe – forced usage of secure password, pre-setup AES cipher (winner of the new encryption standard), 7 cycles data shredder, forbidden password storage
•Paranoid – forbidden password storage, 35 cycles data shredder (in accordance with the Gutmann standard of the Ministry of Defence of the USA), the most secure blocking cipher Serpent is used, forced periodical and frequent password change
•Personal – advanced user profile, option to setup a level of data shredding, option to choose among 9 top-quality ciphers, and other setups.
