30 more seconds: Sending data securely

Sending of important informations to your business partners requires high security. Let’s see how you can secure your data files in few clicks using DisCryptor. These archives can be sent via e-mail or using similar way.

Some companies use information systems or various tools for secure data storage inside company. But speaking of sending files to external co-workers or business partners, they very often rely on e-mail. E-mail is the most used way of sending files and informations. Moreover, there is no need to know what software the other side uses.

DisCryptor allows you to create highly secured self-extracting archives from your important data files. Receiver can open these archives without need of DisCryptor installed or other special software. Simply by doubleclicking on file.

Data in archive are secured by strong cipher and also compressed to reach smaller file size.

I want to send our data securely

Choose folder or file you want to encrypt. Right click on it and choose Add to archive.

You have to fill in some informations in the next form.

Basic properties

Fill in archive name you need, it will be one file in final. We want to create encrypted archive and we presume the other side doesn’t have DisCryptor installed. Choose EXE from Type menu. It is the way to create self-extracting archive.

Choose Don’t shred data files when done option if you want to leave files on the storage unencrypted even after the encrypted archive is created.

Password encryption

Remember that DisCryptor doesn’t let you to choose weak password depending on its Security profile setting.

After confirmation of your choices DisCryptor creates encrypted self-extracting archive. And if you didn’t check option before it will also shred the original files using Data Shredder.

This file can be sent by e-mail message or similar way. Do not send the pasword using same way! Send it by mobile phone or you can negotiate password beforehand.

Receiver  simply enters the password …

And what receivers have to do ?

They will open it using doubleclick, choosing folder to place extracted file and entering the password. Files will be extracted and they will be ready to use.

Encrypting nor extracting takes over 30 seconds but it is much safer to send data files this way.
